We slept in! Not the usual thing for us on a first day but we were both very tired. Glenda has had a stressful first term and is quite worn out emotionally and physically. For me it’s more physical having trained in some fashion every day this week.
It began Monday morning with my older Karate group in Ballarat. Paul Grugin, a U.S. soldier who Glenda and I met on Okinawa a few years ago was over for a week to train and see the sights down under so this group was the first of a number of good, solid workouts. A number of Kendo workshops on Wednesday plus Karate and a very hard workout on Thursday night made the final session on Friday morning quite tiring.

Enough said, we are on the road towards Adelaide. Our stop tonight is at Keith in S.A. This was an alternative to Port Fairy where we were hoping to go if my pelagic trip was on tomorrow. Sadly a phone call on Friday night informed me that the weather was too dangerous and the trip was cancelled for the 22nd time. No trip out since May last year.
So, on to Keith. The weather was overcast and didn’t get over 19 degrees. We drove through St Arnard and over to Horsham. A stop for lunch at the Wail Overpass and then on to Bordertown.
There were no real highlights as we didn’t leave until 11a.m.

Glenda preparing for the walk.
After tea I grabbed the bucket to get some hot water only to be surprised by a souvenir from our last trip home from Canberra which hadn’t been taken care of and forgotten about. I’ll say no more about it but if you’ve read the story of the last day of that trip you’ll probably deduce what I’m talking about.
Roast pork and vegetables for tea and the clock goes back 30 minutes tonight and an hour tomorrow morning when daylight savings concludes.
